GENEVA: Judges
A Critical and Expository Commentary.Fausset (1821-1910) was
born in County Fermanagh and graduated from Trinity College, Dublin. He was
curate of Bishop Middleham, County Durham, from 1848-1859 and rector of St
Cuthbert's, York, from 1859 till his death. His aim in this commentary
was to explain the text accurately, to clarify the geographical and historical
references in Judges, and 'to endeavour, in depence on the Holy Spirit, to draw
forth from the narrative and the inspired Word the spiritual lessons designed
by the Divine author.' He believed these histories to be framed to set forth
spiritual and everlasting truths for all ages, especially to typify Him in whom
all history, type and prophecy find their centre - Jesus Christ, the same
yesterday, and today, and for ever.Series: Geneva Series of
